Welcome to PlantGeneWiki. It is an online community portal on plant genes and their annotations. Call it a Plant Gene Catalog. Our goal for PlantGeneWiki is to generate community curated/annotated pages where the researchers can browse, search, read, and have the ability to modify the information on genes identified in plants. The users should also be able to add new genes on this portal. Yes, that's certainly the motive and it works!

First time users get familiarized with the portal and user/contributor functions by taking the Guided Tours/Tutorials.

Search Do you know your favorite plant gene or gene product or just try a search term e.g. heading date. Get started by using the Search box to the left. Visit the plant genome databases page and visit the respective site to browse the genomes and search for the genes. However, don't forget to comeback to PlantGeneWiki to add your gene(s) of interest. Be part of the community. Add the genes and the gene information to PlantGeneWiki yourself.	Your Contribution PlantGeneWiki is freely accessible to everyone. The many of ways you can help us make PlantGeneWiki better are: Share your knowledge by editing existing and/or adding new information to the existing gene pages. Add links. Correct and report our errors. It is a community based plant gene catalog. Therefore, we would like to hear your feedback and what you want to see on the PlantGeneWiki. Everyone is allowed to search and browse. However, if you are a Registered PlantGeneWiki member you can also add pages and edit the content. Read more about user accounts at PlantGeneWiki membership. The PlantGeneWiki is a community resource, that is freely accessible to the users and public. In order to foster consistency, maintain highest quality of the content and avoid spams, adding/editing the gene information is allowed by registered contributors only. Therefore please free to register. The project is supported by the National Science Foundation grant DBI #0703908 awarded to the Gramene database. The grant funds allow development and maintenance of the PlantGeneWiki resource infrastructure.
